Logo Marks

Our marks

Chitmunk uses two logo marks. The Hex Chit is the primary mark for most applications. The D20 Acorn serves as a secondary mark, favicon, and compact identifier.

Primary Mark: Hex Chit

The Hex Chit is our primary brand mark. A hexagonal game chit with a friendly face and whiskers. Use this in most contexts where the Chitmunk brand appears.

Usage Rules

Maintain minimum clear space equal to the width of one ear around the mark.
Use the mark at 16px or larger. Below 16px, use the Acorn mark instead.
Do not stretch, rotate, skew, or apply drop shadows or other effects to the marks.
Do not change the brand colors. Only use the marks with the official amber and walnut palette.
Do not place the marks on busy, patterned, or low-contrast backgrounds.
Do not add outlines, glows, bevels, or any other visual effects to the marks.

Brand Voice

How we speak

Chitmunk sounds like a fellow game designer, not a software company. Warm, direct, and knowledgeable.

Tagline
Stash your best ideas.

Tone

Warm, approachable, and knowledgeable. We write the way we'd talk to a friend at a game night: enthusiastic about the craft, specific about the details, and never condescending. We assume our audience is smart and creative. We help them do their best work without getting in the way.

Do

  • Use "you" and "your": speak directly to the creator
  • Be direct and concise. Short sentences win.
  • Be specific about game design concepts, "poker-size cards" not "standard cards"
  • Use active voice: "Export your deck" not "Your deck can be exported"
  • Show enthusiasm without exclamation points
  • Reference the creative process: "prototype", "playtest", "iterate"

Don't

  • Use corporate jargon: no "leverage", "synergy", or "ecosystem"
  • Talk down to users or over-explain simple concepts
  • Use passive voice when active is clearer
  • Say "powerful" or "robust": show, don't tell
  • Use "we" when "you" works better
  • Promise features that don't exist yet
