Sell sheet
A sell sheet is a one-page summary used to pitch a board game to publishers, retailers, or Kickstarter backers. It covers the hook, the core mechanics, player count, age, playtime, and a few key visuals — everything someone needs to decide "is this for me?" in 30 seconds.
Why it matters
You need a sell sheet the moment you start talking to anyone outside your playtest group. Publishers see hundreds of pitches; a clear sell sheet gets read and a cluttered one gets skipped.
Example
A typical sell sheet has: title and tagline, hero card or box image, 2-3 sentence elevator pitch, mechanics bullet list, "2-4 players · 45 min · ages 10+" specs row, designer contact info, all on a single letter-size page.
